Why Work History Details Matter in a Disability Claim
Job titles alone rarely tell the full story. The duties you actually performed can be important when a disability claim is evaluated.
Disability forms often ask for more than the name of a job. They may ask how long you stood, walked, or sat; how much you lifted; whether you used tools or equipment; how much concentration the work required; and whether you supervised other people.
Those details help describe the actual demands of your past work. When completing a work-history form, use specific examples from a typical day instead of relying only on a job title.
Be specific about the work you actually did
Two people with the same job title can have very different duties. Clear, consistent details make it easier for a reviewer to understand the physical and mental demands of your work.
